Broadband Repair Agent - CPW Networks, Irlam

Role Responsibilities:

Network technical support on LLU Data products
Interfacing with BT Systems
Liaising with BT to organise engineers to repair faults
Handling update calls from internal resellers
Working to departmental SLA’s
Working with the other SMC Helpdesks where required
Product testing of new equipment to market where required
May be required to create training material for internal and external clients

Overall Purpose of Role:

The Broadband Repair Agent is responsible for diagnosing and resolving network based faults on the CPW Networks 21st Century Network. This is via telephone and helpdesk ticket submissions and Live Chat contact from Resellers. Agents will support resellers on a wide range of network related faults and will offer advice where required.

On a day-to-day basis you will deal with faults such as:

* Network related Broadband fault issues:
Customer unable to connect or utilise the broadband service to capacity, resolving no sync issues and ancillary issues preventing successful connection.

* Core Platform issues:
Including webmail, general email and authentication servers

* Fault Diagnosis Assistance:
Offering advice on necessary investigatory steps required to resolve issues to our reseller base allowing them to resolve issue for their customers in a more timely manner.

Know How:

Work well within a team
Ability to work unsupervised
Willing to learn with an interest in the communications industry
Problem solving skills
Working knowledge of Windows ME, Win2K, XP is essential
Understanding of MAC OS is desirable
Knowledge of ADSL and Network setups
Excellent general IT skills

Communication (regular contacts/networking within role):

Internal
LLU Voice – Agents will liaise with LLU Voice agents to ensure that a customer’s line is free of voice faults before diagnosing faults
LLU Provisioning – Agents will liaise with the LLU Provisioning team to highlight and rectify order issues and some Data faults including BRAS updates
SLF – Agents will liaise with Single Line Faults to confirm encapsulation and to raise Chipset and card replacement requests. They will also contact them in some instances for profile changes although under normal circumstances these will be performed by the agents themselves.
NOC – Agents will liaise with our Network Operations Centre for CPW Store Wireless issues.

External
BT Openreach – Agents will raise fault logs to BTOR where the issue relates to the BT Maintained portion of the circuit. They will perform Co-Op’s with on site engineers as well as arranging for SFI or REIN investigation
Resellers – Agents will deal with a number of resellers dealing with complaints, escalations and general trouble tickets.

Direction of Work:

Workload is generated internally from fault reports via a bespoke ticketing system and email as well as from internal SMC and CPWN departments. Externally, workload generates from a Reseller telephony line, BT OR and any escalated complaints that may arise.

General:

Current shift patterns centre around a 14 week schedule and consist of 2 shift patterns. Early shifts 8am until 4pm Monday to Sunday and Late Shifts 1pm until 9pm Monday to Friday and 12pm until 8pm Saturday and Sunday.
Currently all holiday entitlement is worked into the rota to give periods of 7, 9 or 10 days off each 4th week as below although shift swaps are permissible where sufficient cover can be arranged by the agent.
Shift rota is subject to change following consultation periods
Basic 40 hours per week plus additional hours to meet business needs as required.

Storage Administrator (NetApp) - CPWN, IRLAM

Purpose of Role This role is to support, monitor, expand, maintain and recommend improvements to SAN equipment / environments and the associated infrastructure. The job holder will have demonstrable strong knowledge of NetApp (inc NAS) technology along with excellent storage implementation experience, including SAN Fabric design/implementation.

Role Responsibilities

Manage the day to day operational capacity of storage environments.
Ensure storage devices are operating within agreed performance criteria.
Technically manage the design and implementation of storage solutions.
Provide capacity planning reports.
Produce / update storage documentation.
Investigate and recommend new technologies.
Conduct critical testing to identify and eliminate potential problems.
Ensure high availability of all storage devices.
Identify technical issues that impact on the products effectiveness and either remedying where immediately possible, or escalating when necessary.
Design technical solutions.

Know How

The ideal candidate will have proven experience gained within mission critical environments using NetApp technologies along with Brocade fabric switch exposure. The candidate must either have or be working towards NetApp Certification (or similar) and be able to communicate at all levels.

Network Appliance (NetApp) technologies incl iSCSI, CIFS, NFS and SnapMirror / Snapmanager for SQL in a NetApp environment.

Graduate Software Developer - CPWN, Irlam

Job Description

We are recruiting a Provisioning and Products Developer to provide an extensive and in depth contribution to the development and maintenance of the in-house systems required to allow Carphone Warehouse Networks to manage their customer base, products and networks.

Requirements

The job holder will be qualified to degree level, preferably within an IT related field, though a scientific/maths/engineering graduate may be considered with appropriate work experience and enthusiasm for the role.

The job holder should possess a sound knowledge of .NET framework technologies, using C# and ASP.NET programming. Additional skills in XML, Web Services, Javascript and SQL would be beneficial.

Any exposure to client side technology such as Flash or Silverlight would also be of use.
Experience of design methodologies, plus any other evolving technologies would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Work from designs to develop resilient, high-performance solutions that conform to the company’s existing standards.
Contribute to the production of release notes
Contribute to low level design documentation if applicable
Contribute to tests scripts for developed code
Take responsibility and ownership of project based tasks focusing on the development stage, but also providing support where necessary throughout the product life cycle.

Access Specialist - CPW Networks, Irlam

Overall Purpose of Role:

* The access specialist will be CPWN’s authority on access technologies, dictating the group wide copper wireline strategy and will boast extensive experience and deep technical understanding of xDSL technologies and service provider implementations.

Role Responsibilities:
* To be aware of the test and diagnostic strategy of the Service Management Centre and the overarching long-term goal for CPW Networks
* To work closely with Network Services Group Manager to make certain that all access Technologies align with the SMC and company strategy.
* To provide the Network Services Group Manager with detailed reports on the performance and development of access technologies, both in terms of their use and suggested path for improvement.

Reseller Service Manager - CPW Networks, Irlam

Key purpose of job:

* To manage the Reseller Support teams and proactively control the direction of these units.
The reseller service manager will develop the relationship we have with our resellers and focus on customer satisfaction in areas that are impacted by service delivery.
* They will proactively manage the end-to-end service experience provided to our reseller base through the development and implementation of both tactical and technical solutions.
* This person will be responsible for reporting on reseller service incidents and providing the Network Services Group Manager with detailed performance reports on the teams within their area of influence.

Maintenance Assistant - CPW Networks, Irlam

Purpose of Role:

Assist in the completion of both preventative and reactive maintenance for a wide range of services within an office environment.

Responsibilities:

* Efficient completion of all maintenance requests concerning the building received from internal customer through the Maintenance Tracking System
* Updating the customer and system as necessary
* Assist in office moves/office furniture as and when required
* Ensure good housekeeping/health and safety rules are being adhered to throughout the building by the completion of the daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly checklist, correcting or reporting any defects as required
* Replenish water cooler cups throughout the building as and when required
* Ensure sufficient stocks are kept and order replenishment stock as necessary

Procurement Professional - CPW Networks, Irlam

Procurement is responsible for all procurement and sourcing activity in relation to goods across Opal Telecom, (including Opal Retail, CPWN, Talk Talk Business). * University Degree in quantitative or commercially biased discipline
* MCIPS
* Significant procurement responsibilities in a leading edge company•
* Experience in working with other key stakeholder functions, Telecoms experience preferred
* Previous leadership experience, e.g. leading projects or programmes

Responsibilities:
* Develop category strategy for Networks, and negotiate and implement contracts
* Identify industry best practise and use best practise procurement techniques
* Support the business with third party solutions and negotiate with suppliers for the most favourable terms of supply for Networks
* Influence stakeholders and management to accept the most suitable strategic option
* Identify opportunities to add value to the business and produce achievable action plans to deliver
* Provide advice to internal departments on quality and service standards
* Continually monitor by regular reviews with Opal appointed suppliers
* Analyse service failures to devise a strategy, which prevents re-occurrence and analyse product information to project budget requirements
* Provide accurate and timely management information on supplier activity and performance for business unit
* Active management of all cost saving and financial compliance
* Work within the agreed Procurement Policies and Procedures

People Management:
